Your abilities depend on you birthplace . The available brithplaces and their abilities are listed here :

 At first you cant use any abilities from your birthplace. To get their access you have to  train under supervision of a high ranked person of the same continent .

 If he / she thinks your ready you'll be tested by a high ranked person from another continent .

This is how you  upgrade and learn new abilities .

 Any female is allowed to join the Darkshire Family if invited and proven loyal  by Tristan , Gary or me (Killean ).
